A Focus on Watercolor Techniques

This program places a strong emphasis on developing watercolor skills in a fun and approachable way. Students will learn how to:

• Blend and layer colors to create depth and dimension;
• Control water and pigment for different effects, from soft washes to bold details;
• Use wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques to achieve a variety of textures;
• Build compositions by working in layers, from light to dark;
• Create highlights, shadows, and gradients for more realistic and expressive results;
• Experiment with brush techniques to add movement and personality to their work.

By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in watercolor and greater confidence in their creative expression.

• Yummy Dessert Delights – sundaes, donuts, and sweet treats;
• Aquatic Life & Ocean Creatures – coral reefs and sea animals;
• Cute Characters – expressive faces and storytelling;
• Pet Art – furry friends and self-portraits;
• Natural Science & World Travel – explore and draw the wonders of our world
