Watermedia Classes for Beginners!

Learn all the fun techniques to create awesome watercolor illustrations in a supportive, creative workshop online.

  • Saturday Mornings / 9:00am to 10:00am or on demand
• Cost: $255.00

Students can choose to:

• Join the live weekly online classes, or
• Watch the class at any time and submit artwork for personalized critique and support.
• Students who are unable to attend can watch on demand and submit their work for instruction and support weekly

What We’ll Explore in Class

Students will work with a variety of water-based media, including:

• Special effects to create animal fur
• Bumpy texture to create natural patterns, like bark on trees, or rough texture of a coral reef
• How to create shiny highlights such as seen on a glazed doughnut or cherry.
• Traditional watercolor pans

We’ll also experiment with a range of watercolor paper surfaces, such as:

• Different types of papers - what they are used for and what affects can be achieved.
• Professional 100% cotton watercolor papers
• Other specialty papers for unique effects

• Color mixing
• Layering techniques
• Water control
• Fun special effects and textures

By the end of the course, students will have created a portfolio of beautiful illustrations, exploring a variety of fun styles and techniques.
